Ex-One Direction superstar Zayn Malik just can’t keep himself out of the spotlight these days. Shortly after releasing his debut solo single, “Pillowtalk,” and joining Snapchat, Zayn took to Twitter to release what appears to be a 7-second preview of a new song

In the short video, captioned “Late Nights,” Zayn is listening to the new song playing in the background

It’s just a tiny snippet, but enough to hear one verse that seems to go “Late nights, red eyes, amnesia.” Or is that last bit actually “I need you?” We’ll likely find out soon enough Read more…

You know the stories about how close Nobel Prize-winning physicist Erwin Schrödinger came to never marrying? Chances are you haven’t heard them, because nobody ever talks about Schrödinger’s marriage when they discuss his work.

The same can’t be said for female scientists, however. Twitter user Daurmith jumped on this by writing short bios for some of science’s most famous men, but in the condescending manner typically employed for female scientists

This meant putting all the focus on the scientists’ family lives, their looks and the sheer amazement that they were so brilliant despite being men Read more…

As the votes continue trickling in from Monday night’s Iowa caucus, Twitter came out on top in terms of social media predictions

No prediction is perfect but Twitter got it closer than most by projecting Ted Cruz at the top of the GOP heap, ahead of Donald Trump and Marco Rubio. While the percentages were off, the results still managed to pick the winner even as Trump was ahead in many polls

As for the Democratic side, Twitter fell short on Bernie Sanders’ gains as, at 1:30 a.m. CST, that race still remains too close to call even though Twitter predicted an easy win for Clinton. Read more…

While Hillary Clinton said she was breathing a “sigh of relief” after just barely winning the Iowa caucuses on Monday night, Bernie Sanders wasn’t the only one sharing the spotlight.

A sticker-clad college student was seen making faces behind Hillary Clinton as she spoke after the caucuses in Iowa Monday night, who quickly became known as #Stickerboy, or #Stickerkid, to those watching at home on Twitter.

We caught up with him backstage.

The culprit, we learned, is Drake University student Peter Clinkscales. He’s “a simple man” who likes “pretty, dark-haired women and breakfast food,” according to his Twitter profile. And he’s still undecided. Read more…

Australia’s Queensland Police Service has ridden hoverboards coupled with an abiding hatred for Canadian rockers Nickelback into social media success

The service’s Facebook page has been liked more than 725,000 times, which is more than any other police service in Australia, and more than the NYPD

Often on point, it has used its following to address the scourge that is the “Be Like Bill” meme, and they’re as excited about the return of The X-Files as the rest of us. Of course, the majority of posts concern public safety information, or appeals for tip-offs regarding local crime or missing persons. Read more…

Rihanna is every bit the rude girl she’s always warned you she is, and now she’s taken it to an extreme level by teasing her Navy with a strategic selfie she was fully aware would cause a frenzy

RiRi claims to be listening her long awaited new album, Anti, on $8,895.00 Dolce & Gabbana headphones with a crown attached. Before you get too excited, remember that this doesn’t mean ANTI is finished and it’s not a release date. But it is definitely a call to action: buy a crown. Immediately

Crowns have played a huge role in the marketing of Anti we’ve seen so far, and there’s one on the album cover, which was released well before before #R8 was even finished Read more…

A new offer from Papa John’s Pizza franchises in Russia is making some people sick, but it’s not the pies themselves.

As part of a new promotion, customers can save money on pizza by entering the name of the long-deceased former Soviet dictator Josef Stalin.

News of the promo code was first published on Facebook by Ilya Klishin, editor-in-chief at the independent TV Rain channel in Moscow

“Papa John’s Pizza has introduced a Josef Stalin promotion code. Enter the name of the dictator and get a Hawaiian or pepperoni pizza,” wrote Klishin, who said his great-grandfather was one of tens of millions of people repressed by the brutal dictator. Read more…

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Donald Trump took to Twitter to flay Ted Cruz on Saturday morning, just hours before the pair of GOP front-runners are set to square off at a Tea Party event in early-voting South Carolina.

Trump ripped Cruz for his Canadian birth and undisclosed campaign loans, before blasting Cruz’s attacks on “New York values” in a series of tweets.

Trump kept up questions on whether Cruz’s birth in Canada disqualifies him to be president, alluding to previous warnings that lawsuits could bring him down and the GOP with him if he’s the nominee. Read more…

In the wake of a series of deadly explosions in Jakarta Thursday morning local time, Indonesians are sharing a message of defiance on social media.

Condemned as an “act of terror” by Indonesian President Joko Widodo, the violence in the capital city’s central shopping and business district has reportedly left at least four people dead. The attackers have not yet been identified, but Indonesia has previously been the victim of bombings undertaken by Islamic militant groups.

Rather than be cowed, as the area affected went into lockdown, locals and supporters from around the world used social media to tell the perpetrators their attempts to sow fear would not be successful Read more…
