Looks like the cat is out of the bag

Earlier this week, Samsung sent out a typically cryptic invite for its next Unpacked event on Feb. 21 in Barcelona, without actually disclosing the names of the devices it plans to show. But what seems to be an error on the company’s developer site briefly showed that the Galaxy S7 Edge is likely to be one of Samsung’s upcoming phones

Samsung’s next flagship Android smartphone — tentatively referred to as the Galaxy S7 — will reportedly arrive in a few months.

According to a report from Reuters, the Korean electronics giant will launch the Galaxy S7 in two screen sizes in February. Ukrainian tech blogger Ivan Luchkov, who leaked the date for Samsung’s Unpacked 2014 event for the Galaxy S5, corroborates that timing and claims Samsung may hold an Unpacked event on Feb. 20 in Barcelona, days before Mobile World Congress.

A 5.2-inch Galaxy S7 and a 5.5-inch Galaxy S7 Edge are reportedly in the cards. The report claims Samsung is planning to produce 3.3 million of the smaller S7 and 1.6 million of the larger curved model. Read more…
