It can be difficult trying to develop friendships when you’re an adult. There’s no school recess forcing you make friends.

New app Hey! Vina is a Tinder-like app that lets women swipe their way to friendship. 

Hey! Vina was created by two Silicon Valley women, Olivia June Poole and Jen Aprahamian, who met at the General Assembly computer programming school. Says Poole, they wanted to help introduce women to friends wherever they are in their lives, all over the world. 

“Vina” comes from a Scottish girl’s name meaning “beloved” or “friend.” Read more…

LONDON — It’s that time of year again: Valentine’s Day. As lovers everywhere gear up to whisper sweet — and corny — nothings, Britain’s best-loved spread has decided to wade in and shut down the cringe-fest. Marmite has banned pet names “bae,” “snookums” and “baby cakes” from its personalised jars, to the relief of everyone

A survey of 2,000 UK adults, carried out by One Poll and cited in a statement from Marmite, found that “bae,” “snookums” and “baby cakes” are the country’s top three most-hated terms of endearment.
