LOS ANGELES — Grace Helbig may be known for her quirky, comedic videos, but long before her Internet fame the YouTube star struggled with an eating disorder.

In high school, Helbig used to count calories and obsessively exercise, struggling with exercise bulimia. Her saving grace? The “therapy of comedy.”

This is the candid anecdote that kicks off Helbig’s second book, Grace & Style: The Art of Pretending You Have It, which hit bookshelves Tuesday

“I got myself into a cycle of hiding and bingeing and purging,” Helbig wrote in the candid introduction to her book. “I was tired and repressed and sad all the time. I was losing weight and losing hair (surprise! That happens when your body loses too much weight! Fun discovery).” Read more…

The reality that trademarks like these could be used to theoretically give companies (including ours) the power to police and control online video is a valid concern, and though we can assert our intentions are pure, there’s no way to prove them.” Read more…
