Christian Bale exits ‘Ferrari’ movie because he can’t gain weight fast enough
The “health concerns” that prompted Christian Bale‘s exit from the title role in Enzo Ferrari are unusual, to say the least. The actor, who has frequently gone to great lengths in the past to morph his body for different roles, can’t gain the weight he needs to in time for director Michael Mann’s spring 2016 shoot.
It’s not that the task is impossible, but getting there on Mann’s timetable wouldn’t be a safe process for the 41-year-old actor.
Mann will reportedly start searching for his new lead right away, according to Variety. The film, which is based on the book Enzo Ferrari: The Man, The Cars, The Races and set in 1957, examines a significant moment in the famed automaker’s life. Read more…
