Kanye West does a lot of bragging — about his music, his fashion line and even his wife

But the artist took an oddly humble turn earlier this week by asking for a massive dose of financial help from none other than Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg

The plea of monetary aid came, of course, via Twitter, where Kanye wrote, “Mark Zuckerberg invest 1 billion dollars into Kanye West ideas … after realizing he is the greatest living artist and greatest artist of all time.”

Was Kanye making a prediction or a request? It’s hard to know for sure, but it’s not difficult to interpret it as a veiled request for funding considering it came just a day after Kanye claimed to have “53 million dollars in personal debt.” Read more…

Whether you’re a football fan or not, the name “Cam (dab on ’em) Newton” has been lighting up social media and stuck on everyone’s minds for the past several weeks.

This 6’5”, 245 lbs bawse is killing the social media game right now, and his haters (ie; the insecure, jealous, cryptic trolls of the Internet) don’t know what to make of it

On top of that, this young pro-athlete is projected to sweep up his first MVP title at the NFL Honors Awards Show airing Saturday, February 6th at 9:00 pm on CBS.

Before you start channeling your anger at me and start giving me lip service of how arrogant, closed-minded, showboat-y and selfish Cam is to you, allow me, someone who works in the marketing and branding field, to share some reasoning behind why Newton is overtaking your Twitter timelines and Facebook News Feeds. At the Iowa caucuses, everyone is clamoring for attention — and one woman stole it all.

During a live MSNBC broadcast of the event, a concerned voter made it to live TV and began to air her concerns. She got a little heated, as people do, and decided to drop everyone’s favorite expletive.

“The fact that I haven’t gotten benefits in three months because the VA is so f*cked really makes me concerned,” the voter said.

It’s hard to tell what’s better — when she says f*ck, or when someone follows it up with a very audible “oooh.”

Technically, the FCC only prohibits obscenities on major broadcast networks such as ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox. MSNBC, as a cable news station, would not be subject to these regulations and subsequent heavy fines Read more…

UPDATED: 1:53 p.m. ET

Iran has freed Washington Post journalist Jason Rezaian and three others in a prisoner swap deal, Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency said Saturday, as diplomats prepare to implement a historic nuclear agreement.

A U.S. official confirmed the release of the four prisoners to CNN, and said they were being flown to Switzerland from Iran.

Senior diplomats are expected to announce the lifting of sanctions on Iran later Saturday as the nuclear agreement is implemented. The deal made with six world powers will take effect when the International Atomic Energy Agency certifies that Iran has met its commitments to curtail its nuclear energy program. Read more…

MEXICO CITY — Drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman was eager to set up a face-to-face meeting with Mexican actress Kate del Castillo, and had apparently never heard of Sean Penn, according to transcripts of over a month of text messages exchanged between the two.

The transcripts published Wednesday by the newspaper Milenio — and confirmed as authentic by a federal official — showed that Guzman was less interested in making a movie about his life than he was in flirting with the actress. Guzman’s lawyer contacted in 2014 to talk about producing a biopic of the drug lord, according to Milenio

Federal officials also said they had detected recent efforts to register “El Chapo Guzman” as a commercial trademark, possibly by the drug lord’s lawyers. Read more…

A regular diet of caviar doesn’t make you immune to the pleasures of greasy pizza

Recently, New York Times restaurant critic Pete Wells reviewed the Times Square branch of Mexico-based chain restaurant Señor Frog’s, known for fluorescent drink-fueled conga lines — not necessarily for its impeccable food. Much to his surprise, Wells “had more fun at Señor Frog’s than at almost any other restaurant that has opened in the last few years.”

He said the chili “does just what you want it to do for the thick, juicy hot dog,” and the Reuben sandwich is “good, for some reason.” Read more…
