NEW YORK — Lego has been cranking out Star Wars-themed sets for years, but the latest ones from the new Force Awakens film haven’t been seen in its full glory until now.

Lego is showing off scenes and characters from the blockbuster movie at the 2016 Toy Fair in New York City this weekend, and Mashable got an early look at the designs

More than 10 characters from the movie have received the Lego mini-figure treatment, including Kylo Ren, First Order Snowtroopers, Resistance Troopers, Maz Kanata, Admiral Ackbar, General Leia Organa and, of course, a teeny tiny BB-8. And we thought the life-sized BB-8 was cool. Read more…

After raking in nearly $2 billion, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is easily one of the biggest and most successful movies of all time. It’s biggest star? Well that depends on who you ask. Daisy Ridley is a first choice for many people. So is John Boyega. However, if we’re being honest here, the only choice is BB-8, the round droid that stole our hearts and the show.

We’ve already been graced with at least two pretty fantastic BB-8 robot toys. Sphero, which helped design the technology inside the on-screen BB-8, probably has the best of them with the palm-sized, app-controlled BB-8 by SpheroHasbro’s remote-controlled and considerably larger BB-8 is no slouch, either. OK, we get it. Makers of fitness trackers now recognize that, for the most part, the majority of products in this category are clunky. No matter how hard the company tries to disguise wearable tech, you can almost always tell when a person is counting their daily steps. The plastic wristbands are never subtle.

While previous iterations of these handy little trackers improved the category with slimmer and smarter devices, we’re finally moving into stage two of activity monitoring: fashionable options you’d actually want to wear.

Tesla buyers, be careful what you write about the company — if you’re deemed “rude,” you just might get banned from buying a Tesla car

That’s what happened to Californian venture capitalist Stewart Alsop, whose Tesla order got canceled — by company CEO Elon Musk, no less — after he wrote a blog post criticizing the company’s Model X launch event

In September 2015, Alsop wrote a blog post titled “Dear @ElonMusk: You should be ashamed of yourself,” asking Musk to apologize for making Tesla customers wait nearly two hours for the Model X event to start, and then making them wait even longer for a chance to test-drive the car they had pre-ordered Read more…

Wouldn’t it be nice if your car could simply pick you up in front of your house and drop you off at work, while you sip coffee and read the news in the back seat?

While we’re not quite there yet, a new Tesla promo video shows how the car’s Autopilot feature can make your daily commute more comfortable

Titled “Revolutionize Your Commute,” the 1-minute video shows a Tesla come out of the owner’s garage all by itself by using the Summon feature. Then, during the ride to work, Autopilot navigates the car, conforms to traffic flow, makes sure the driver doesn’t accidentally exit his lane and, finally, parks itself Read more…

With self-driving cars dominating the tech conversation in recent months, it’s no surprise that someone would eventually attempt to bring automation to parents sick of pushing their young child in a stroller.

Smartbe, which is marketed as “the first intelligent stroller in the world,” uses a motion-tracking sensor to follow you wherever you go, allowing for hands-free strolling or an assisted push.

Like all great ideas nowadays, the Smartbe is currently in its crowdfunding phase on IndieGogo. However, if all goes correctly, the stroller will easily be the most-decked out baby carrier ever created. Read more…

Many have heard of Fleshlight, a popular sex toy for men, but a new company is taking a different approach to the male masturbator

On Friday Blewit launched an Indiegogo page. Though the gadget resembles the canister-style shape and method of similar toys, Blewit is marketing masturbation more like a gym workout.

Rather than implying the toy is solely for sexual pleasure, Blewit wants customers to think of the toy as a “trainer” for sex with a partner — in order to “stay hard” longer and improve self-confidence Read more…

My favorite bit of tech at CES 2016 wasn’t a 98-inch 8K TV or a car from the future, it was a fridge. Samsung’s $5,000 Smart Family Hub Fridge.

I’m not going to lie, I totally lust after this fridge. It has a huge 21.5-inch touchscreen, cameras on the inside to take photos of your food, and Instacart and FreshDirect integration. It’s bananas.

Now, let’s forget that I live in a small two-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn that barely has room for a compact Dishwasher, let alone Samsung’s gorgeous refrigerator of my dreams. (Let’s also forget that I don’t cook and order from Seamless basically every single day.) Read more…

When we think about birth control, we tend to think of women. But a German inventor wants to flip the switch on that discussion with his latest creation.

Introducing the “sperm switch,” named the Bimek SLV, which is the brainchild of Clemens Bimek. The device claims to allow men to block sperm from mixing with semen before ejaculation

It’s Bimek’s answer to male contraception and an alternative to a vasectomy.

During a vasectomy, the tubes that carry sperm are closed or blocked, and sperm can no longer enter the seminal fluid. Instead, the body absorbs the sperm. Read more…
