Residents surfaced from their snow covered homes on Sunday after the East Coast Blizzard lived up to — and even exceeded — the hype leading up to it.

The blizzard made broke countless records in numerous Mid Atlantic States. In New York City, for example, Central Park received 26.8 inches of snow, making it the second-largest snowfall in recorded history. At least 29 people were killed in storm-related deaths, and the biggest snowstorm of the season affected about 50 million people.

Most subways and roads are now open after service had been previously suspended, and people are getting back on their feet. Read more…

The 2016 Dakar Rally brings off road vehicle racers and enthusiasts from all over the world to witness the dirt, gas, and pure adrenaline of the intense sport. The distance of each stage varies but can be around 500 miles per day. The 37th running event started in Buenos Aires, Argentina on January 2 and will run through Argentina and Bolivia. This is the 8th consecutive year the rally has been held in South AmericaOn January 16, the most dauntless competitors will climb on the podium in Rosario to end the race’s 13 stages.
