A Spanish politician boldly stood up for a woman’s ability to breastfeed in the workplace Wednesday when she arrived at the first session of parliament for the year with her 5-month-old son in tow

However, the move didn’t sit well with some, who claimed Carolina Bescansa’s decision to breastfeed in chambers was nothing more than a political stunt.

Tensions were running high at the session, in part because organizing the government is still proving difficult after an inconclusive election that left political parties scrambling for control
