Starting off back in 2013 with a strict focus on customizable 3D printed charm bracelets, the 3D jewelry platform Zazzy has quickly expanded into new territories both inside and outside the of the jewelry market. After venturing into customizable 3D printed necklaces and cufflinks, Zazzy has quickly become a popular place to sell and purchase custom 3D jewelry, claiming to have had a total 60,000 people selling over 300,000 3D designed accessories on their platform. Now, Zazzy has announced a partnership with the massive e-commerce marketplace Shopify, looking beyond jewelry and into the limitless world of 3D printed goods.…

Kayak for 3D Printing “3DPrintler” Turns Down 7-Figure Investment Offer

What began has venture focused on 3D printable hydroponics systems for urban farming called 3Dponics, has since grown to include a CAD modeling tool, dubbed 3DCreative.ly, and, more recently, a global price search engine for 3D printing called 3Dprintler.  And, at least according to the company’s blog, they’ve turned down a seven-figure investment proposal in the process.

As a sort of Kayak for 3D printing, 3Dprintler is meant to allow anyone to compare prices for 3D printing services across a wide variety of platforms, including Sculpteo, makexyz, i.materialise, and, now, Shapeways. …
